Welcome to Music Making SENse free online resources.

Here is a selection of the activities MMS provides for schools and learning at home.  You can explore the videos as a full, structured music session or watch them individually e.g. when starting or finishing the day (using hello and goodbye) or for a movement break. We have also provided a visual timetable and song/activity choosing boards to support different ways of engaging with the resources. You can follow our presenters Kirsty and Kim or rock your own way - the main goal is to have fun with music.

What you will need: 

 

Drum & Shake: Percussion e.g. drum, shaker or tambourine or home-made /- found instruments like a plastic bowl, box, saucepan and wooden spoon(s) NB some learners prefer learning with their hands and some beaters / wooden spoons etc.  

 

Sing & Sign: There are downloadable visual lyrics / supporting resources to accompany the videos available here.

   A favourite with younger learners / early years / KS1 students: Train Song by K. Keogh

    

   Great for everyone: Sambalele Brazilian Folk Song

    

   A 90’s classic ideal for older learners, KS2+ to adults: No Limits by 2 Unlimited

   Ideal for early years / KS1 / KS2 students: La Mariposa a traditional Bolivian Folk Song

   For anyone who loves the song or likes to drum, clap & pat, shake, sing or dance along: Roar by Katy Perry

5. Sing & Sign

   Using Makaton and visual lyrics we can sing part of: The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars

   You can sing / hear the song a couple of times and PMLD and students at the early stages of speaking can work on singing or signing focus words

    

   Using Makaton we can sing: Three Little Birds by Bob Marley & The Wailers
